Hen night goody bag fillers

A lot people, including me, are making goody bags for hen nights. It can get quite expensive, especially if there are lots of hens, so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where to get cheap fillers. Ive looked on hennight hq etc etc and will get a few bits from there but im thinking more along the lines of freebies or samples or things ideally for under a pound (pay p&p only etc) or just any good bargins anyone has seen in general? any help appriciated!:T

  • Have you looked on the freebies & low spend boards? They would be a good place to start. Also eBay...

I had no idea that hens were supposed to get presents!

Poundland... they have things like sashes, whistles, bubbles, headbands etc, mostly a multiple of things in a pack. We did it for a friend recently and it worked out really cheaply.

  • I did goody bags for my friends hen do.

    Ours included:

    A sash
    glowsticks
    love heart sweets
    hangover cure
    wine glass charms (ebay)
    party poppers
    plasters
    a pink candle

    other things you could include:

    willy straws/chocolates
    dare cards

Most things were quite cheap - i got the bags themselves and the wine glass charms on ebay. the most expensive part were the sashes but again try ebay. glowsticks and sweets were from poundland.

they were lots of fun to put together and went down well with the hens :)

i did hen night goodies bags - well they were more survival kits for my best friends hen night and they went down a treat. and they were all done MSE way.

    i included:-

Plasters - big pack and just put a few in each
Paracetamols - bought a big pack and put a strip in each
toothbrushes - bought a value pack of 12 for £1 and put one in each
Mini toothpaste - i managed to get these in my local market who sell, it looks like, the freebies you get from hotels, they had allsorts, shampoo, conditiioner, soaps, hair nets etc.
I got a value pack of razors - again one in each
i made cupcakes for everyone with the time and date of the hen party and wrapped these up
I got hen night badges from poundland
dare cards - again we all got two each and the hen got the rest
face masks - the colourful ones you wear - poundland again
willy straws - (i think these were from poundland)

i cant remember what else but they all loved them.

I think all in all for 11 of us i think i spent about £15 for everything. I also did request samples but i never got enough for everyone so didnt end up putting them in. If you shop around you can get value packs of things and just split them up like i did.

    Hope this helps

I'm doing hen bags too, and in an MSE way.
I've followed the Freebies board obsessively (try using friends and relatives addresses to get extras), and got a lot that way. Also, look out for free samples in shops/magazines - I've got 12 'food' samples of various sorts this way (cereal samples being handed out in the Underground, M&M samples from a wedding fair, a pot of honey, and some teabags, all free).

Unless everyone has to have exactly the same things, then go for themes like 'food', 'beauty' and so on and mix and match.

I also got 12 pairs of folding flat shoes, from ebay, for about 70p each (by buying 12 pairs it made them cheaper), and 12 Agatha Christie books (2nd hand, 2 x job lots from eBay and my mum helping out with charity shop hunting) as the weekend is sort of murder mystery/vintage themed.

Also think about things like buying multi packs of sweets/chocs - mum picked up a bag of 12 mini malteser bags for a quid; I'm also putting in mini skittles bags (2 pounds for 12 mini bags), and mini ritter sports (saw them cheap).

Try searching 'joblots' on eBay for multiples of things - Avon samples are often sold this way.
