Fraudulent loan???

Hi I really hope you can help me
I have just discovered that my wife has run up a debt of £30,000. £5,000 on cards and £25,000 on unsecured loans at the bank. She earns £400 pounds per month.
I am informed that when taking out the loans, my income was taken in to consideration, and the loans granted without my knowledge or any signature and paid in to her account
I know this is morally wrong but my question is would you consider this legally wrong of the bank to do this?
Any help or advise would be very much appreciated

There is no law saying they cant lend money to people based on household income.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
When I applied for credit I was asked for the household income and granted credit based on that, so I do not think she has done anything wrong and neither have the banks, the only thing she may have done wrong is not tell you about the borrowings and that would be classed as a personal matter. If she had borrowed the money in your name ad forged your signature then that would be classed as fraud. If you woke up this morning congratulations, you have another chance :j0
