Hi,
really glad I found this site as I need a it of advice really. I am off with my husband tonight to see a financial advisor at the estate agents. We have saw a lovley house and really want to move as we need soemthing bigger. We haven't decided to rent out or sell our house. I'm really worried that with my poor credit history in the past it might prevent us from getting a mortage. I just ran a credit check today on myself and it came back with a score of 870 so its average. Don't know if it would be better for my husband to get the mortage in just his name as his credit history is excellent. Any advice would eb greatly apprecaited.
Thanks

Without any information, there's nothing to make comment on. The mortgage advisor is better placed to run through your options.0

If you rent out your current home, only 2 lenders could consider the new mortgage, one of which would completely ignore the fact you are keeping your current mortgage, which means you can borrow more.
As for credit - impossible to say without actualy applying.0 -

You'd be better to speak with an independent advisor rather than one who works for the estate agent.
And don't pay any attention to the credit score - it's meaningless - doesn't take into account your income, location, loan-to-value or any of the other various factors that a lender will consider.0
