Morrisons Stella Artois Cheat

Morrisons have a 2 cases for £14 offer on at present and show the price of a 15 bottle case at £9.

But what they are selling is 2 cases of 12 bottles each not 15. The saving is less than 2p per bottle - but they make it look like it's much more..

ASDA are selling the same size in a 24 bottle crate for £13.50.

Another reason why Morrisons is my least favourite shop.

Tesco have 3x10 packs for £20 (cans 440ml) - better deal.

You have to be very careful at morrisons,they over face any gaps in any department.Be very wary the product your buying tallies with descriptive shelf edge label. very confusing and wrong.

I'll second that. And when they over face gaps, it's always with a similar but more expensive product. They never put a cheaper product there.

I appreciate that this can happen occasionally in error, but with Morrison's I am convinced that it is a deliberate ploy to deceive - and encouraged by management. And wait until you have to 'confront' their 'customer services' when you have had the audacity to discover their deception. Truly awful!

I like to think I am pretty savvy in the shopping department, but even I get caught out by their ambiguous pricing.

My nearest Morrison's (Doxford Park Sunderland) is renowned for it and you really have to to be on your toes to avoid being conned into buying a product that you THINK you have purchased.

Pricing labels placed on shelves are never removed when a product 'on offer' has sold out - and invariably a similar more expensive product is put in its place giving the impression of getting a bargain.

Thanks peterx and geordie joe - Mrsp is now convinced that I am not the only one who finds something to moan about every time I go into the damn store - but she prefers shopping there (despite us living minutes from a Tesco Extra and having to travel 10 miles to get to Morrison's) but there you go!

Less reasons to shop at Morrison's IMO!

That's my local too and I've noticed it, I always check my receipt and just take anything which cost too much back to the little customer service bit.

I don't know about you, but if I have ever queried the price, a runner in our relatively small morrisons checks out the price and argues that the price its come through at is right, you can argue with them until you are blue in the face but short of actually leaving the checkout to show them (which I'm sure the majority of us don't) we have to take their word for it, I always ask to have the item refunded if the item wasn't as advertised just to muck them around.

You should always show them the advertised price. I brought some carte dor, £1.50 for the specific flavour but it was self scan and came through at £3. Got a worker over who went to check, came back saying the price was right. I took him back, showed him the price at £1.50. Proved that pr!ck wrong. This was at ASDA.

May have to pop over to ASDA - although Stella seems to go quick (theres a lot of chavs were I live nicking it all).

Not in my Tesco. They've got the same 2x12 bottle deal as Morrisons but at £16.

Just been on Mysupermarket and found better prices (for ASDA).

1.) Stella Artois 4% (4x440ml) - £3 - buy 4 lots for £12 16x440 = 7040ml total beer and £1.50 in pocket.
2.) Stella Artois 5% (24x284ml) - £13.50 = 6816ml total beer.

I am not sure if I have this bit right.... I assume it to be. Total alcohol for each is:

1.) 281.6ml (7040 / 10 = 704/10 = 70.4 x 4 = 2 81.6ml)
2.) 340.8ml (6816 / 10 = 681.6/10 = 68.16 x 5 = 340.8ml)

The 1st offers more beer but the 2nd offers more alcohol content. Depends weather you want to enjoy youself and drink some great beer or just get a little more drunk.

The 4% costs more on its own in Tesco, but is 2 for £6 so works out the same. 2 for £7 in Sainsburys. No idea for Morrisons. As for the 5%, don't know prices for any other places.

Ok I'm bored, but don't we all love maths Spose I'll have to get in some 4% on Saturday ready for the Newcstle game on sky sports on Sunday

It's more (for me) the unit container - in that I'll drink a single 284ml in one go - or a 440ml. I don't keep the 156ml difference until the next time I want a drink. So I tend to measure by the number of bottles/cans.

In my local Tesco they are also doing 2x10 'fridge packs' for £16. Each can is even smaller! But at least they aren't trying to deceive, as Morrisons are. Or rather , they aren't any more because they've pulled the promotion! Perhaps they read MSE too.
