Our mortgage is with Santander and we can move it from 03.05.11. We've been with them for around 7 years and 3 years ago we decided to cancel our credit cards and try to pay them off. The Halifax said they would only freeze the interest if we went through Payplan so we did as they asked.
Now that we want to get a better deal on our mortgage, and maybe roll in a secured loan, we seem to have a problem. I asked Santander, as a general question for a new mortgage, and was told no as it would have affected our credit rating. I daren't ask as an existing customer in case they refuse to renew and we can't find anywhere else. I also asked RBS (we bank with them) and they said they won't deal with anyone on a Debt Management Plan.
We've never missed a payment on anything, have no overdraft - does anyone know of any Bank that would help? I am waiting to hear from Payplan's financial company but thought I'd ask on here too.
Thanks for reading

The main lenders won't be interested in consolidating debt into your mortgage. Your best option is to remain with your existing lender and choose the best available product. As this will require no credit check.0

Thanks for that.
I've just spoken to someone who told me the exact same thing.0
