prob with hsbc and a managed loan

i was wondering if someone could give me some advice, i have a managed loan with hsbc, and have recently claimed back my bank charges from them, around £1200. anyway since they received my preliminary letter, they have been calling me telling me im 2 months in arrears on my managed loan, and now i have had a letter asking me to hurry up and fix it, they may share with credit reference agancies, etc. thing is ive not once fallen behind with payments. i dont know what is the best thing to do about this? im heavily pregnant and i dont need all the stress of being told all the time im in arrears when ive done nothing wrong

what do you think i should do? any advice welcomed!!

  • Firstly I think you would be better off posting this on the reclaiming bank charges board and over on https://www.consumeractiongroup.com.

If the phone calls are bothering you then you can insist that they only contact you in writing and they have to comply. I'd write to them and ask them for proof that you have fallen behind, say you dispute the fact. They're probably trying to scare you off. BTW are you getting monthly bank statements for the ML? If not, do, you can request them online. But I'm sure someone will have much better advice than me.

If you have receipts for payments, or bank statements, then dig these out and show them to the bank. Ask them to look into these before contacting you in writing.

Is the managed loan payment taken by DD? Ask them for details on what months you are supposed to have missed and cross check them with your statements.
  • thanks for the advice, each time i speak to them they admit im not in arrears and promise to stop the glitch that is making them call whatever, but its not stopping grrrr. thanks for the replies x
  • Hi
Hopefully you'll have this sorted out now - but we had the same problem. I went and got the agreement while the guy was on the phone & our date for first payment was different to the one he had on the screen! We had the signed agreement etc & had never missed a payment. He appologised & said he was just doing his job, the computer calls customers etc etc.

So it could be their system is wrong????

HSBC dont do statements on loans unless its a closing one

Phoning is usually best and asking for proof but hopefully its all sorted now
