  • also - look at the OS board - your food bill could be massively cut down.
  • It sounds like you are a teacher - is this right?

If you are, there are endless ways to boost your income, including home tutoring, summer schools, marking exam papers.

If you are into photography, you could look into sites like istockphoto.com where you keep a portfolio online and people pay you if they want to use a photo.

    Good luck.

To be fair, she does seem to be working an average of 3 days per week, but then she has her own debts to sort as well (you're going to tell me to sit down and talk to her about her debts aren't you? - she will hate you for that! ;) )

You know what, I absolutely agree with what you think we are going to tell you!

If your partner is working on average three days a week as a supply teacher, but she is still not managing to make a regular contribution of £300 per month into the household, the question is where her money is going? The most obvious options are either it is going on things like car and petrol, or it is being frittered away, or she owes more than she is letting on and she is struggling to keep up with it.

To find a way forward, I think you need to sit down together, get all the paperwork for your finances and work out a joint budget. It might be painful, but it is better to face up to it sooner rather than later when things might have got worse.
  • Alright, so no site down chat with the oh yet, but:

I've checked at Uswitch on the gas and elec and I'm on the best price at the moment (I have price protection until 2010 so I thought this might be the case)

I can cut my contact lens bill in half, so that's got to be worth it (£60 a year)

The broadband should be cheaper somewhere else, a few phone calls shoudl do it. Signed up for rpoints and quidco. Have earnt a whole £2.50!

    On the way!
