Videographer - Herts, reasonable price

Ladies, I need your help,

I am looking to see if we can afford to add a videographer to our wedding at the last minute (wedding is 14th May).

We never budgeted for this as we didnt want it, it then progressed to wanting it but asking a family member to get the coverage we wanted. Now I am trying to see if there is anyway at all that we can have a professional viedographer for the day, we have two locations, church and the hotel for the reception. I might be able to scrape enough money together to cover a budget up to 500-600 pounds but every one is WAY more expensive than that!!

If anyone has any ideas, advice or recommendations please let me know. I'm driving myself crazy by looking at thinsg which we just cant afford. So far I have resisted just going "heck its only one day lets do it". It is something I would love to have, but I also know in the grand scheme of things it is something i could live without so its hard.

Please help if you can, there must be a way of doing this on a budget but I just cannot find a way!!

I dont have a recommendation sorry...but you may want to check with your church if they charge for videos inside the church....when we married our church wanted an extra payment if we intended videoing the ceremony which eventually we decided against....in the end we just asked a few guests to take some footage outside the church and also of other bits of the wedding which we then edited together afterwards.
We knew that at least 3 would be bringing cameras and asked them to start filming them getting ready so it was quite nice to see how others prepared for our big day too...and we also got to see the day from their prespective.Because we had several cameras taking film we have things from all parts of the day with the exception of the actual ceremony which we refused to pay the video fee for!
We had a lovely photographer who took formal photos and captured the day brilliantly that way and then we have a video reminder of the fun bits too!

Can't recommend anyone locally but mine originally quoted £450 for ceremony and speeches - managed to knock him down to £300. Bargain hard especially with the late notice!

    Hi,
I also wasn't sure that I wanted a videographer - just seemed an unnecessary expense on top of everything else- BUT then I watched a friend of the family's wedding video taken last August and I was absolutely blown away by it. It looked so great and unlike all the others I had seen didn't look like a dodgy home video.
The DVD I watched was from the top price package but the company also do a basic package priced at £495 that covers guest arrival right through to the speeches after dinner. They are called 'A film forver', based in Epping and cover Essex and Herts. We are getting married next June and I just sent off my deposit to them last week. They require £75 up front and have said that we can then pay off the rest bit by bit any time before our wedding.
I hope this helps and I hope they end up covering our day as well as they did the DVD I got to watch recently
