I would either just invite the day guests to the wedding and the wedding breakfast, and the night time guests to the evening, get married later and have everyone to a buffet and disco, or have a much smaller wedding where everyone can go to all of it (my second wedding had 19 people altogether)
  • It is what you can afford

At the moment we can't really afford our budget we budgeted for originally of £3,000...so we may have to change our plans as well and do the same thing. Our wedding is booked at the registry office at 1.30pm, so we would have to ask guests to come back in the evening, as we have booked the function room at a pub from 12 noon (ready to decorate)...

We are thinking of cutting down on the numbers and only having just both set of parents and siblings...but with us that's still 30 people @ £20 per head for the wedding breakfast. So I know what you are thinking bless you.

I would do what's best for you and your budget, may I ask how much budget have you got? Have you booked anything for the evening do yet? Which town are you having it?

Respond here or pm me, as I am happy to help

my family are off to a wedding next week. They wed at 3.30pm and theyve asked a local WI to put on home made cake, coffee and tea in the church hall for after the wedding. This has cost very little and the WI were very happy to help. Could this be an option?

We have budgeted about 3000, estimates at the moment are 2500 but we have put a 500 emergency fund on top of that

We have 50 people coming to wedding and an extra 50 to 60 at night
A family friend has agreeed to cater for 120 ppl for £500, cold buffet at the night do...

We havent booked anything yet but ive had a look round and got quotes etc so i can make a decent estimate, of course things may cost more or less than estimates but i actually quite like the challange of getting it all done on a budget. My sister is a sewist so she can do alterations needed to clothes, my parents are paying for DJ and cake
The hall we found is a civic hall, its up for 120 ppl. costs £260 from 7pm til 12.30 with 12 bar, includes tables and chairs for 120, have budgeted about 300 for decs, cake, balloons and a cake stand....

Bridesmaids are buying own dress and shoes, my cousin is a makeup artist and so gona see if she will do it cheaper or discounted
