My contribution to saving money and finding a bargain:

Primark are selling an Ultra light Premium Down and Feather jacket - 90% down for an amazing £23. I don't think you can find anything cheaper than that. They only had black. It has two down protected pockets and two inner pockets. It is washable by hand - as down should be. There is no information about how warm it is supposed to be or anything else

I bought one and am currently wearing it shirtless in a coldish box room where my PC is just to test it. I'm warm.

I notice it is immediately twice as warm when I put a soft shell jacket on top and even with my lightest waterproof and windproof summer jacket. No doubt it is the windproof factor that counts. That's its proper purpose anyway - as a second layer. It's not water resistant and I doubt if it is windproof or anything like that but well £23! It's extremely light and soft to touch like good down should be.

I was about to buy a Mountain Hardware similar looking jacket for £80 from Cotswolds. Even if this lasts one Winter it will be worth it. It's so comfortable I don't want to take it off - and I'm very fussy.

It's a nylon shell so it is quite windproof - just tested it outside - gusty conditions but not really cold.
  • some nice warm coats, around £15 in local Brighton store. shame none in my size.

It has to be a pair of real suede, over the knee laced up boots-found them lurking at the back of the rack, just the one pair of size 8's, they cost me a fiver! The likes of which would cost over £100 in Topshop.

Got a few barg's today too, pink hoody for £3, blazer for £5, denim studded shirt for £5 and a vest for a quid.

Mens Santa onesies are reduced from £12 to £7 in Primark. They come complete with a pom pom which plays music when you press it! Good for a laugh at xmas :rotfl:
