CCJ Help

Hi
I have a CCJ from August 2008 which i will be paying off in full tomorrow.
Currently i am also looking for a house on mortgage but not sure whether my CCJ would hamper this as it would still be on my credit file till 2014.
Would renting be the best option? Although i prefer not to if that was case.
Thank you in advance

It is possible to get a mortgage with a satisfied CCJ on your credit file - but you won't get one from the high street lenders you'll probably need to go through an independant mortgage broker to find a lender. You'll also probably not get a great deal in terms of the APR and likely need a larger deposit than someone with the same finances but a clean credit file.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Thank you thats very good to hear that it is still possible as ive really worked hard to be financially sensible.
I also have another query.
I have got my debt down to £3500 which includes the CCJ
I have a total of £2000 surplus at the moment. Is it worth working out final settlement figures to clear the debt? I am on DMP at the moment and have been on one for a while.
Thanks0
