CCJ Help

Hi

I have a CCJ from August 2008 which i will be paying off in full tomorrow.

Currently i am also looking for a house on mortgage but not sure whether my CCJ would hamper this as it would still be on my credit file till 2014.

Would renting be the best option? Although i prefer not to if that was case.

Thank you in advance

It is possible to get a mortgage with a satisfied CCJ on your credit file - but you won't get one from the high street lenders you'll probably need to go through an independant mortgage broker to find a lender. You'll also probably not get a great deal in terms of the APR and likely need a larger deposit than someone with the same finances but a clean credit file.

Thank you thats very good to hear that it is still possible as ive really worked hard to be financially sensible.

    I also have another query.

I have got my debt down to £3500 which includes the CCJ

I have a total of £2000 surplus at the moment. Is it worth working out final settlement figures to clear the debt? I am on DMP at the moment and have been on one for a while.

    Thanks
