1950s fancy dress ideas

Hi all. Was just wondering if some people on here could suggest some 1950s fancy dress ideas for me please?I have until Saturday to find something. I've thought of maybe the James Dean look or going as Buddy Holly complete with geek chic glasses.

Does anyone else have some good ideas?

Many thanks.Josh

Agreed, and I like the James Dean look too. :) Of course, you could always try a young Elvis, or John Wayne.

Great ideas guys. I've been looking for a suitable blazer/suit jacket to go as Buddy Holly. What sort of colour do you think would look good?I was thinking of a blue/turquoise colour. Then have black trousers, folded up at the end. White shirt, thin black tie and geek chic glasses.

I think blue or turquoise would look great - it was bright enough to have that "stand out" appeal and will look the part. Have a great time at the party!

    Nice one.

How about something like this? http://www.fancydressoutfitters.co.uk/movie-music-tv-characters/music-icons/buddy-holly/good-buddy-costume-men-s

You should be able to pick up a blazer for cheaper like this in a charity shop though :-). Make sure you style your hair in a 50's way though.
