Hiya everyone.

I have a quick question that I hope that you can help me with. Not sure that this is the best place, so apologies if it is wrong:o

Can you win on a competition that is outside of your local area? E.g I am assuming that Capital fm is in London (excuse my dimness) and as I don't live in London, should I bother applying? When I won with Real radio, it was in my local area, so I kind of assumed that I was picked because of that and I now don't enter comps for Real outside of this area.

Is this the same with magazines or other comps too?

Has anyone won from a competition that is specifically outside their area?

I don't enter many radio comps so can't help there (I'm too scared I'll be called to go on air )

But I have won a few small prizes from newspapers outside my area (The Redditch advertiser and a Yorkshire Newspaper) as well as a big prize from the London Evening Standard - I live in Bristol.

Thank you for replying it is really useful to know that you can win from those papers.

Lol, I hadn't thought about the 'going on air' bit when I won, and just received a phone call from the presenter, who didn't tell me I was being taped!!! I did sound like a bit of an idiot as it was my first win, and I didn't expect it or believe that it was real.

If it makes any difference to you applying, I wasn't live on air and they edited my phonecall before putting it on air, and then pretended that they were just calling me, so I had about 20 mins to ring all my friends and family to get them to listen!

Good morning all, have finally got my new hubby to agree to moving back near my family, I miss them all so much!! So am trying to win some money or bit's I could sell on, as I want to move asap. I feel like crying, just want to go and be with them.
Shadow cat's new water fountain arrived today it's one of the ones that run like a tap, he's not too sure about it yet though, but we got it as he only likes to drink from taps, so hoping this will encourage him to drink a bit more.

I went to see "Wicked" yesterday at the theatre. I've wanted to see it ages... and finally got to see it. It was incredible. Everything i thought it would be and more.

Had a lovely holiday but a bit tired out now! Didn't come back to any red cards but son won a middlesbrough football shirt from local paper :j Oh and I did get a free tea-bag!
