Thanks everyone for the wishes :) I have done my war paint (me! I never wear make up!), put my hair up, donned my outfit and I am ready for battle. Well actually, no, I just had a panic attack and I'm terrified, but I think I can put a brave face on it! It just feels all wrong - surely they should be insisting I come back and I should be begging to stay at home? Just waiting for my cab now...

scottishminnie, I would put in complaints to the train operator and to the station operator, if they are different. I would also CC in your MP/MSP because the railways are still of interest to government.

I agree the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. But (whispers it) my OH is actually better at cake baking than I am :rotfl: though I'm not supposed to say, well, not in front of his mates anyway! And he can crochet...

Cant help thinking if scottishminnie had then said, 'my baby is still on the train with my bag '..the guy would have gone with her to fetch them quick smart.. LOL Course she would have to act a bit dotty when they got there and there was no baby afterall 'my mistake, looks like its just my bag ' :D

    :rotfl:

    Welcome, skint but optimistic! :hello:

ScottishMinnie, Can you ring the train company and ask if they will have held it or binned / destroyed it? I always thought they had to have a Lost Property policy....

    Right, I'm back.

Not quite what I'd hoped for... they denied having refused to make the adjustment, they started trying to twist things.

So anyway, it's been adjourned for now.

I'm going in tomorrow to do a desk assessment, if all is okay I should be back to work soon.

If not, goodness only knows - but either way, we have only adjourned, not agreed or settled anything.

    I need a lie down.

Larumbelle - Well, it's not the absolute closure you wanted but it does seem like a step forward. If they are denying and twisting things they know they are wrong and are trying to backpedal as fast as they can.

Good luck with your assessment, and in the meanwhile have a cup of tea and put your feet up.

Larumbelle - I also agree that if they are back pedalling then that's progress. I'll bet they are extra helpful tomorrow. have a good rest this afternoon - you certainly deserve it!
Welcome Skint - you will get lots of ideas and encouragement from the folks on here. Do you follow the flylady thread on OS, or the house is a mess one? They're good for ideas on whizzing through tidying and stuff like that.
Still haven't hoovered but have sorted kitchen. Made some carrot and celery soup and put in bits of lettuce and some broccolli stalks as well. Added coriander this time as well as the usual turmeric. Added chilli flakes too. Have to slice up yest's chicken and gammon and sort for freezer.
Younger dog got her booster so that's done for another year.
Off to put feet up for 10 mins with a book before hoover comes out of cupboard.

((Larumbelle)) I'm sorry it didn't go quite as hoped but I agree with the others; if they're on the defensive and twisting and lying, they must realise that they've behaved badly and aren't going to be allowed to get away with it. Hope you're not too disappointed.

    :wave:Hi there Skint and welcome.

I'm tired enough to fall asleep on the couch but hope to rally a wee bit after a cuppa and do chores.

:D Magic Greengrocer did me proud for £1; 12 large tomatoes, 14 satsumas, 8 apples and 3 large courgettes. Will be cooking a pasta-ish thingy for tea. I have recipes which I just riff on and get very stressed if anything requires precise ingredients to succeed.

Connection about to go down, hope all well with everyone and that you have a good aft and eve
