Traveling included?

I have just started working for a small company. I work when they have hour from me to do. I use my own transpaot and receive 30p pm allowance. I was told that I wouls be paid from the office to the jobs and back to the office. That was fine.
I work on an hourly basis. I check work that the contractors have done across the city. I was told to allocate the time to the seperate jobs. I am a little confused........if I leave the office spend 1hr at job 1, then drive 20mins to job 2 where i do 1 hr, then 40 mins to job 3. surly I should be charging the 1 hrs driving also. I have been told that I only charge the time I am in the job not travelling between?
what is you views? and is 30p pm correct? is there a minimun mileage payable by a small firm or is it up to the firm? Thanks

What's in the contract.

Without a writen contract wit offer it is a good idea to put your understanding in the acceptance letter so it forms part of the contract.

Put down the hours they say they would pay you for under the catagories they want. if they don't want travel on the jobs since you are expecting to be paid for travel ask how you record it.

Mileage payments are upto the company, you agreed to 30ppm thats what they pay although this will be low to cover real costs.
