Cheeky Bank...

So I ventured (bravely) into my local Nationwide the other day to put a cheque in. (This alone deserves a :j). And while I'm there the lady is tap tap tapping away on her computer and the whole time I'm getting more and more nervous. I have a fear of going into the bank in case they take my card off me and hit me with it. But she turns to me with this smile and says, "you have one of our CC's. There's a note here to say that you'd be cheaper getting a loan from us to pay it off."
 Now not being a mathematician or anything similar I laughed at her and said, "no thanks!"
Bear in mind, if you see from my signature I owe just over 1k on said credit card, not doing so badly with my repayments and know for a fact that I could have it paid in a year if I knuckle down. I also know that Nationwide charge more interest the lower the loan....i'm not sure what annoyed me more; the fact that I was being approached by the bank regarding a relatively small debt or whether they think this is responsible banking!
I know this isn't advice or anything but just felt like having a rant about it!

You could look for a 0% APR balance transfer card and apply for that and move it over.
Think its good that they did that but if you do take loan, dont use credit card as you will be back to stage 1.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

I've just got a 0% CC and took my other CC's over to that. (Didn't have enough to put this one on there too but as it was the lowest left it where it was.
Tell you what though, once I get all this stuff paid off I will never EVER take out credit again. I hate this all so much. I'm so sick of banks!Don't be 'Good' - Be 'Amazing'0 -
"Tell you what while your at it why not add a further £1000 to pay for those home improvements? and theres no point closing the credit card, you may as well keep it for a rainy day"
There you go your current debt jump from £1000 to £3000.
The all too common method of banks getting in there pockets.
You did the right thing, just make sure that once youve transfered the balance you close the account.0 -
I can't wait until it's clear so I can tell them to close it! I don't like having all these cards and I don't want to add to them. I want to clear them off. Think I'll put cheques in through the cash machine in future to save the hassle!Don't be 'Good' - Be 'Amazing'0
