cheap/free family days out

Tenth Anniversary 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker
with easter holidays coming i was after some ideas of things to do with the kids pref in the armagh area but we are willing to drive a good distance if it's worth it


my suggestion would be tanaghmore(sp?) gardens in lurgan (btw does anyoen know if it's reopened?)

    yes it opened on friday. Not much has changed, new concrete paths and better fencing, but my kids love it there. Its free and local. The maze in the gardens is great as well. Definelty worth a visit.

    we go all the time our kids love it and even the parks quite good, but last time we wnet it was closed and we had 2 very disappointed little boys (nothing a happy meal couldn't fix mind) so we havenet risked it since we will def be going there over easter :D

    Glad the gardens are open again, we found it last year and our wee boy loved it :) One of the better days out we have had.
  • How about the Lough Neagh discovery centre - only a couple of miles from Tannaghmore? Or Lurgan Park - there's a play area and plenty of birds to feed!

    oh yeah we've been to lough neagh before they have a nice wee park there aswell not huge but nice and quiet, i've never been to lurgan park where is it?

  • It's right in the centre of Lurgan - go down Windsor Avenue from the town centre and it's on the right hand side. The kids can feed the water birds on the lake, and the play area is on about 200 yards past that.
