If the position is salary only (no commission) I think Sam should take the job, but use her position to discourage potential clients from taking on debt, if they really need the loan, to use the time with the client to enlightening them of ways to repay/reduce debt (including this site/book ~ both availabe for free from you local library). If Sam feels they would rather be supporting people in becoming debt free this job would allow Sam to gain valuable experience & knowledge on how the loans industry operates.
Ultimately Sam has debt, Sam needs money, therefore Sam needs a job.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Providing they are not doing anything illegal and can sell loans in a way their conscience allows then I see no reason why they shouldn't take the job. As Rafter said earlier on this thread, there are some people for whom these loans are the only option - wouldn't they rather be dealt with by a friendly face (especially one who may be able to empathise with their situation)?
As regards dubious tactics - that can apply in any industry, the question is how dubious is the seller comfortable with being?Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
I'd like to think I wouldn't, but if desperate for cash myself....? Who knows?0

With that level of debt maybe he should just take the job so that there's a chance of paying off some of the debts and not making the situation worse, but keep looking for another job and getting out as quickly as possible. If he finds himself in the position of either having his home repossessed or taking the moral high ground it would probably take more courage than most individuals have to to sacrifice home and family just to be ethical.0

Yes I would take it, and so would any of you if you had been made redundant and needed work.0

Hats off to you who would take the job. Personnaly don't think I would accept the job offer. Although I need the money, putting someone else up the same creek as myself without a paddle does not appeal to me.:beer:0

I wouldn't take the job. I know about debt mess too much to actively subject and exploit others into it.0

I wouldn't take it...... I'm sure I could find a minimum wage job doing ANYTHING rather than doing this.
When my ex was jobless, he got offered a job as an ambulance chaser (phoning / door knocking to see if you been in accident in last 3 years). We were broke but decided that it was against everything we believed in so he didnt take it.2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0
