Tax on bonus

For this financial year ending, i received a bonus of £2000 gross.
after deductions i ended up with ~£1230.
The deductions seem a lot, how can I check the right amount has been deducted?
I'm a basic tax payer, with a salary of £26k, I paying student loan and contribute to stakeholder pension.
Is there some formula I can use to check the amount of tax/N.I taken off?

As rough calculations:
Income tax - £2k @ 20% = £400
E'ee NI - £2k @11% = £220
Student loan - £2k @ 9% = £180
So that gets you to £800 of deductions before whatever rate of pension contributions (but depends on whether you contribute to the pension through salary sacrifice).Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!0 -
If salary is £26K and 1/12th paid with bonus this would give £4166 which is over the upper earnings limit fo NI (£3656) so on the bonus NI would only be about £1700
