Maximum number of listings Fashion

Hi everyone
Firstly, sorry if you've answered this question before. I just finiashed listing a pair of branded trainers and a message popped up then disappeared again saying something along the lines of me having reached my limit for branded fashion items and that I have only 1 item left otherwise I'll have to wait 30 days or become a business seller.
I'd really liekn to know what it said i.e. how many items you're allowed to list, as in terms of branded fashion items I think I've listed about 7 in 3 months, two of which didnt sell. And what categories are included, as I've been listing lots of Next kids clotehs and wondered whether that counted (but Ive listed far more in the past).

There are all sorts of limits and unfortunately i don't think they are actually written down accurately anywhere.
It tends to depend on whether or not you are a business or private seller, what your selling history is like (ie how much you sell generally) and how much feedback etc you have.
That is a difficult market for a private seller, so make sure you really are listing only used items that you already have, maybe things your children have grown out of. If you are selling new tagged items you may well trigger the 'need to upgrade' email;.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just had a look through everything I've sold recently. Loads of used kids clothes as my daughter has just gone up a size and I didnt sell the size before that until now. Then in adult sizes just used clarks boots, topshop jumper, 3 x gap jeans and a new Jane Norman top, plus the trainers I just listed. Its a bit confusing as this is reasonable for anyone having a clearout (which I am).I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be0

Hiya
You can list a maximum of 100 per month as a private seller. If you want to sell more, you have to register as a business (according to ebay help, as much use as, well, summat not right useful). They dont care that you're not actually a business, if you're selling more than 100 items per month, you're obviously Sir Phil Green from Topshop trying to pull a fast one on ebay....

Ok, so I list about 30 items every time there is a free listing day. I have never seen these alerts before but it is telling me I can only list 3 branded fashion items in a 30 day period and I have exceeded this. As a reformed shopaholic, most of my items are branded, and quite a few are unworn so I am selling it as new. I do not understand the need to register as a business seller, (as I am not one, and not sure of the benefits anyhow). I'm not really sure what ebay are hoping to achieve here."Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like its heaven on earth." - Mark Twain0

Thanks Nixxx, my point exactly! What is non-business-account eBay for if not a good clearout!I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be0

You are misunderstanding the rules. A private seller can list what they like, the first 100 items at 99p or less though are free, after that they are charged at normal rates.
The rules for business sellers are not so clear cut and there is no automaticupgrade required at a certain number. I've seen people being required to upgrade who list much less than 100 items a month, but I can also see, even this evening 'private ' sellers with hundreds of auctions month after month. Certain categories though seem to attract the upgrade email faster than others, second hand clothes being a good example.
There are also limits on new private sellers in some categories, I did see them written down once, but can no longer find them. Those limits can be quite low.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hiya Soolin
No, I have a private account for my clearout stuff, and I cannot list more than 100 items per month, no matter what the start price is. I emailed ebay about it, cos I was under the same impression as you in that the limit is 100 @99p items, and i said i was more than happy to pay for additional items, and its then I found out that the limit is 100 in total.
It may be because its a newish account though, although am on 100 positive feedback?
