    1. No your payments would remain the same. In the early years your payment is mainly interest and in the later years mostly capital.

    2. Yes but doesn't make the payments less.

    3. Yes, I would consider an offset in your position

    If you have £250,000 in the bank and want to buy a property at £250K why have a mortgage ? why not just buy cash and save on mortgage fees plus interest.
    PS I love offset mortgages and think they are ideal for self employed people and people trying to be Mortgage Free ASAP
