Claming expenses back from the employer how old they can be?

    and it wouldn't even be tax years, it would be the companies financial year that the expenses need to be in. Could be 31st March, could be any date really.

    Yes, they would accrue for an expected amount of unsubmitted expenses at year end. However its highly likely that this one item would be SO MATERIAL that missing it out would make the accounts not show a true and fair view.

    There is no actual rule, just managers don't like people submitting expenses years late. Though there is usually someone who submits them all when they leave and usually get them paid. expect a bit of hassle to get them signed off, but if they are legit expenses, they should be paid. If its entertaining without much description then probably it would be declined so late in the day.
