One problem might be that there is just no where to place you.
We are moving into a caravan in 2 weeks (due to repossession) as there is nothing our local council can offer..They just don't have the places for a couple with no kids etc.
We couldn't afford to rent as the bond / deposit etc was more then we had so make the choice to move onto a caravan site, the site we are moving to has people living there in the same boat and as things move on I can see more and more people having to make that choice.
It might well be easier if we had trailer parks here as at least there would be somewhere cheap to live when you hit the brown stuff.

    Hi all,

had a lengthy interview with my local council last week and was told if my debts in bankruptcy were visa card loan debts etc i would have made myself intantionaly homeless ?

Has anyone had any experience with this? is this correct? or just a load of c--- as half of england will be heading for tent city.:D

    regards

    ooc

    Hi ooc,

Sorry to read that your council haven't been too helpful.

That sounds like a load of rubbish regarding your debts / intentionality.

Hope they see sense and offer the help that you need.

Maybe Shelter can help you with where to go next -

I hope things take a turn for the positive for you, and very soon.

    Good Luck,

    Sim.

    Not your fault.

The resurrection post was useful as it confirmed that HM was indeed totally mad.:D

    hi all,

have to go and see them again for the 5th time they dont reply to phone calls etc.

To be honest i know i am truly knackered and there will be zero they can do for me being a single male etc .Have spent the past 2 months going around letting agents and looking at private lanlords although they all have a downer on anyone claiming housing benefit. Will get there in the end "somewhere !"

thanks to all out of cash.

Simon - sorry, HM = Holidaymad as in post #9 that cvt1 was replying to.

Out of Cash - many thanks for the update. Have you tried Gumtree, Freeads, Loot, web search for "landlord direct + your area" or even local shop windows?
