I have been asked to submit bank statements for a mortgage I have applied for. The lender has stated that they must show the company logo, my name and address, account number, and transactions.
I have three separate current accounts and they want paperwork for them all, but I maintain them all on-line.
Halifax is excellent; when you view statements and press print it displays them in exactly the format that has been requested.
Natwest has the logo and account number but not my address. I've had to request statements and have been told I will get a covering letter, addressed to me on letterhead paper.
Alliance and Leicester (Santander) are AWFUL. They basically print out a transaction listing with no logo and not even my name. I could have just typed numbers into excel to get the same results. I requested my last statement at a cost of £5 but don't know how far it will go back or even whether it will be in a suitable format. This was also my main account.
If I simply cannot obtain the information exactly as requested does anybody know what my options are? It may well turn out to be fine but I want a contingency plan in place if not as time is of the essence.
The lender is First Direct, whom I have my current current account with but only since the last two months.

Take the print outs to a branch and get each one stamped witht he branch stamp.
May help.
Or ask the branch to print out the statements and stamp them.
If you are employed and paid into the bank send in a payslip(s) which correspond with the credits to the bank account. This may help.
Copy of bank card may show the account number. Get the branch to certify a copy.
Probably best to do as much as you can as a plan B.

Natwest will order 3 months worth of original bank statements, providing you have electronic statements. It can however take up to 2 weeks.Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

I walked into natwest, asked for statements, she printed them off and stamped them, done in 5 minutes0

Thanks for the replies, I am keeping my fingers crossed it will be ok.
I do wonder though why on-line statements can't generally be printed to the same format as a paper statement, this would save a lot of stress. If Halifax can do it, why can't everybody else?0 -
Great point. All banks should adopt a rule on them.
My bank (First Direct) allow me to print statements which look like postal ones. I have done a mortgage application this week with statements provided from Barclays which my 4 year old son could have produced!!
The most frustrating thing for me is the lender stance. 'We need original statements' 'What do you ask your customers to do?' Bank online!!
Can be frustrating but stick with it and you will get thereI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. HI Gav
We had the same issue with Santander and had to go in to the branch and the girl at the counter did a print out for us and managed to "drag" the address details across over the transactions page - our lender was happy with this info and processed our application pending our original statement that we had to order over the phone.
Hope this helps0
