My condolences to your family & friends.
A newly-recruited Catholic PSNI officer has been killed in an under-car bomb attack in Omagh, Co Tyrone.
At this stage, police have confirmed a 25-year-old man died when the booby trap device exploded in the Highfield Close area of Killyclougher on Saturday afternoon.
Residents reported hearing a loud blast as the bomb went off.
It is understood an annual half-marathon and charity fun run were also taking place in the town on Saturday.

I wish someone would tell proponents of the Patton Report that this sort of thing was the reason for the shortage of recruits to the RUC/PSNI and not the discrimination that was alleged.0

I'm disgusted and horrified that this has happened. RIP to the victim, Ronan Kerr, only 25 years old. And may God help his family and friends as they try to come to terms with their loss.0

Oh don't get me started. If the most knowledgeable and experienced officers had not been 'Patton'd out of the force, the filthy scumbags responsible for this sort of act might not be on the streets.Always overestimating...0 -
I take it they no longer fit the tamper detectors to police cars anymore?0

His religion or perceived religion should not matter ,yet the first line in this thread is
Catholic PSNI Officer murdered in Omagh bomb blast.
Only in Northern Ireland do we claim religion dosent matter but deep down it does and that is wrong.
If it was in England ,Scotland ,Wales or the Republic the religion wouldn't get a mention .Here the religion or perceived religion always comes first and the murder is secondary .
And when it comes to the funeral where will our politicians be ,standing outside the church (not inside ) because their Protestant god wont let them go inside.
No Patton report or Good Friday agreement is going to change that."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
There's so much I'd like to say, but it's better not to and just pass on my condolences, another senseless, wasted life, heartbreakingNorn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0
