Balance transfer from American Express (AMEX) issues

Hi everyone,
I have been having problems paying off my American Express (AMEX) Cashback credit card via a balance transfer from a Santander Zero Credit Card, which is great since it offers 0% for 6 months plus 0% balance transfer fee if you have a current account or as I do an ISA which has been at the top of the best buy list for a while.
Anyway, the main problem has been around the 15 digit card numbers that AMEX use, Santander can't work with these it seems as the balance transfer failed twice (after having been put through to multiple departments).
So I spoke to the nice people at American Express to find out if there were any blocks on the account, which there weren't. I asked if there was a way of transferring via a sort code and account number and they gave me the following details:
Sort Code: 300000
Account Number: 00200476
Ref: AMEX Card Number
Phoned Santander back and they said that was no problem and have now made the balance transfer. Will take a couple of days to go through but for now all looks good.
Hope this helps anyone else that is trying to do this as I saw there were a few posts about this over the years but none with a resolution.
