Sony Televisions Online

Hi folks,
Does anyone know an online TV and electrical retailer who will: A. Actually ship to NI and B. not charge the earth to do so?
I have been hunting Kelkoo and Pricerunner and can find some good prices but most of the retailers won't even ship here and the ones who do are either charging a fortune or will ship it for a reasonable price but unfortunately are not offering much of a bargain on the actual price of the TV.
I have checked Declan Higgins excellent site for the Green List but other than Peter Tyson online I don't see any TV/Electrical suppliers listed (who unfortunately don't supply Sony) - I could supply Declan with a stack of companies who should be on the Red List mind you - but no surprises there!
Alternatively, if anyone knows any local retailers doing a good deal on the Sony KDL40W2000 that would be just as useful!
Thanks

Dixons and Currys online deliver to here and most of the time you can find discount codes and free delivery code on the vouchers and discount board0

Have a look around and see how cheap you can find it online, irrespective of whether they deliver to NI or not. Then print out the details and bring it to Currys.
I believe they are still running a "we match any price" promotion, so if they have the TV you're after in store they will match the internet price and you won't have to worry about postage as you can collect it from the shop.0 -
Seems like in the search for a good deal looking at obscure online traders I completely forgot to look at the well known retailers.
Thanks for the advice - incidentally a friend has just recommended ukfrenzy, empiredirect and play as well worth a look for anyone else looking for electronics goods with the same value and service as the rest of the UK gets.0 -
Amazon will do it for £29.99 as they use Royal Mail
PS Still £1500+ for the telly !!0 -
Hi
Deals4U.co.uk is based just outside belfast - don't stock a great range but I got a range cooker at a very good price as most of the other companies wouldn't deliver to NI.0 -

Well that's true but unfortunately Amazon will not deliver TVs outside Mainland UK - from what I have seen today most of them say this and give some very vague excuse about it being for legal reasons to do with retailer liability for goods delivered over a certain distance. I think this is a smokescreen but was surprised Amazon also stuck to their guns on this position as normally they are only to happy to deliver to here. Does anyone know if this is true?
The upshot of a day's "square-eyed" surfing for this stuff is that basically shopping comparison sites are all but useless if you live here as many of their hits find companies that won't deliver here at all. The next stage is finding out how co-operative these traders will be if I offer to arrange courier collection of it - I have a number of friends who have done this and found it to be much cheaper that the retailers are quoting.0 -
Ebuyer ship to here - we got a 40 inch Samsung from them no problem. they did charge extra but they were cheaper than currys etc overall at that time.0

Great company to deal with, very friendly and co-operative when I had a wee problem with an order, highly recommended:T :T :T :T

I know 3 guys in work who all had 37" flatscreen HD-ready TVs delivered to NI by Amazon. In most cases they had 2 TVs delivered as, due to a misprice by Amazon, they bought the 37" for the price of the 32", so they were all advised by Amazon to refuse delivery of the 32", then that order would be cancelled and a new order for the 37" at the previously agreed price would mean dispatch of a second TV.
I know there was some confusion as this was a few weeks ago when Amazon were using Famac and Famac went under, so it may be that they won't be taking any new orders for large goods until they get a new courier contracted for here.0
