Oh no!! My larder is too full, AGAIN.

  • I have made lists of the freezer, fridge and cupboard contents. Good idea especially for the freezer because it stops you leaving the door open while you are hunting inside!

I just have to train my OH to cross items off the list.

I have had a couple of "control freak" type comments, but we seriously spent under our grocery budget and the freezer and cupboards are still full so who's laughing now!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

It must be the winter syndrome. I made laminated lists

Actually, that's a good idea - could laminate the Organized Home lists so they could be re-used.
  • It was wonderful while it lasted tawnyowls and I will start using them again as soon as I can see past the front row in the cupboards. I used white board pens on them and a simple system of lines and zeros.

I always like to keep my cupboards full. I hate anything running out and always have at least one open, one spare. Ive tried running them down, but i still have that worry about running out of food (when i moved out from my parents i had no money, and very little food) so always make sure i have plenty!!!! I have been trying to run my freezer down, and im doing a good job, apart from the fact im using something, cooking too much and the freezing the leftovers!!!!

I must do the same as I have absolutely no room in fridge freezer and chest freezer for any xmas stuff till we eat it up but I do the same as the others - take out stew then cook too much and then have to freeze it and this time its in gravy with veg so bigger than the original 1Lb packs!
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j
  • I know the feeling too! I randomly do a "What's in the Freezer" list and cross off as we go along but never really thought about doing it for my cupboards.
The WITF list really helps with menu planning so it would probably be even easier if I had cupboard lists as well. I will have a look at the link too ChocClare.

What i do before I go shopping is write my list, everything i think I need, then go downstairs and go through the larder, fridge and freezer crossing off or altering the list as I go.
  • Cul pepper - i did that yesterday - i wrote what was in my cupboards and fridge freezer - then went back ot my shoppign list and wrote that around what i already had - have come home and the hsoue looks surprisingly different and not crammed with the same old rubbish.

I somehow managed to come away with 1125 points too when i only spent £60! bonus!
    Time to find me again
