Bank said they would waive charges. They didn't

So my account was overdrawn by £200 last month so I rang up to talk to the bank about it. While on the phone, I paid in £200 to get it back in the black, but was also told that I had been charged £6 a day for each day the account was overdrawn (27 days) £162 in total which was due to be taken from the account on the 1st April.

However I was told on the phone that I would not receive this charge because I was paying in £200 that day. Lo and behold I log on to my online account and have received charges of £162.

I rang the bank, and the lady said they don't have the authority to waive charges and there were no notes against my account & that she would raise a "concern". I was called back and was told it was the collections department who said they would waive the charges so they need to get in contact with them.

What are the chances they are actually going to waive the charges?
