Hi there, I trained to level 3 in Beauty Therapy qualified last september and wanted to start my own mobile business. I am 40 years old. I have a decent free web site but do not get any calls !! I would like some inexpensive marketing ideas please.
If I could make £100 per week it would be great !
Thnks in advance.

How about local paper, gumtree, facebook0

Cards in Newsagents window
Cards in Supermarket info board
Cards in any other boards - village hall/community centre etc!
leaflet drop
flyers under car wipers in local shopping centre car park
Press release to local paper (google how to do a press release for info)
Local Enterprise Agency or similar may have more info and advice - there may even be grants available for marketing
host a 'party plan' type thing at your home (maybe body shop or something else beauty related), and give everyone flyers/business cards
Don't know how to do it myself, but you can link facebook/twitter to your webpage
do some research on SEO for your website

You could join lots of agencies, not your own business I know but you'll keep your skills and your confidence up, there should be plenty of work at this time of the year. There are also pamper and bridal type parties you could do.0

Networking and referrals (you might have a get a revenue share agreement possibly) are likely to work ok and be inexpensive, they just cost the time it takes to setup.0

Maybe you could run a competition! stick it in the local paper, everybody who gets a treatment in April will be entered into a draw for... facial or whatever you want.
Sometimes local papers will run a story on new business' in the area, maybe give them a call and tell them your a new business running a comp, if they run the story its free advertising.
I know my local paper frequently do write ups on local business people.
Or start a facebook page, the first 50 people to like your page get 5% of any treatment..0 -

I second this idea:Tworked brilliantly for my friend in the same line of business as you and we live in the land the beauty forgot;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
Also giving a prize to a raffel gets your name out there. I found that most of my clients came from referrals and word of mouth. Special offers are always pounced upon this time of year.
Good Luck x

Offer halfprice treatments to up to 5 friends on the condition that they refer someone else they know to you, thereafter these referrers can always get a discount (obviously not half though).
Therapy/ pamper parties - give the hostess/ organiser a discount or free treatment
Offer to do taster treatments at local open days/ fayres (hairdressers, mind/body/soul shops, psychic fayre open days are especially good for this)
Offer a "book a course of 5 treatments, get the 6th half price/ free" sort of deal
Every person you meet through these appointments/ parties, give a flyer/ advertising leaflet to
After that you should have enough word of mouth customers to keep you busy until you can expand and take on more clients
When you're ready for new clients, set up your own webpage or site
Advertise in Yellow pages (quarter column ad is fine but make it colour)
Advertise in your local circular
Start emphasizing discounts for pamper party hostesses - these parties will make you soooo many new potential clients (Not to mention all your money's in one place for the night
)
When you're established, don't rest on your laurels - keep up to date with industry trends, add new services (if you only offer beauty, consider doing a course on nails and offering that too, holistic therapies, wedding makeup, the list is endless...)
Every new client should go away with a flyer, business card, and a smile, and preferably the next appointment booked
Good luck
