Cougar Financial Services - Help please

Good Morning

I just had a automated message on my mobile from Cougar Financial Services to call them quoting a refernce number.

I don't know who they are and I have been up to date with all my repayments, i.e. I cancelled my DMP, informed my creditors and paid off 1 card in full 2 days ago and made a payment on my Capital one debt (account is defaulted) on the 31st March 2011. When I spoke to Capital (I wrote to them about my intention and change of address but electronically signed the letter and the wrote back they can't change anything unless I sign the letter) on Monday last week, they changed everything and even send me a latest balance statement (phot copy).

I have no idea who CFS are or what they want?

I would be inclined to ignore calls of this type.

If a company has any legitimate reason to contact you, then they will eventually do it in writing.

With a name like cougar financial, it makes me think of some old dear dressed to the nines looking for young male victims :rotfl:

Sorry, I know this doesn't help, the name just tickled me.

    Reincarnation of Debitas?

Definitely ignore and don't phone them then. Bigger bunch of idiots would be hard to find.

  • Thank you :) I am just suprised as when I spoke to C1 they did not mention anything about passing my debt on? They even gave me the account/sort code etc details so I could pay myself rather than using the fee charging DMP company I was using. Payment had to be in by done by the 9th April and I paid on the 31st and more than what I had been paying.

That's disgraceful. It's hardly any wonder that so many villages no longer have a resident idiot if this company is luring them away.

And this got what to do with my question?

So far I have not had another call, just this one on Saturday morning. I can only assume it might have been a miscommunication at C1 seeing that I paid (online fast track) on the friday :o
