Is an employer legally allowed to deduct the cost from a person's wage, of a broken wing mirror to a works van, caused by an unknown third party whilst the van is parked during working hours and the employee is working in a nearby building?

It would depend what was in a persons contract of employment. Have you checked this?Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

There would need to be an existing signed agreement allowing the employer to simply dip into the wage and make this deduction or there would need to be a contractual provision permitting this, again subject to the employee being given a written copy of that contract (and agreeing to it).Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
