Peppermint Creams - egg-free recipe?

Has anyone got an egg-free recipe for peppermint creams?

I'm sure when I was little I remember making them without - but can't remember how it went.

The main aim of this is to get a longer life on the finished product.

  • I'm sure I made them as a child with icing sugar, water and peppermint essence :)

That's what hubby remembers - I seem to recall something to do with condensed/evaporated milk (something in a tin at least).

Just wondered if anyone had an idea of quantities

    The recipe I have:

    1lb icing sugar
    4 tablespoons condensed milk
a few drops oil of peppermint

Mix icing sugar and condensed milk to form a paste.
Work a few drops of oil of peppermint in by hand.
Roll out and stamp out small rounds (or any shape you like)
Put on a tray and leave in a cool place to dry out.
    Enjoy

Although I haven't tried it yet sounds yummy.:D

Thanks for that - I'll get a tin of condensed milk on my next shopping trip and give it a try
