I do things like that too!!! Knowing that your meat sauce can stay in the pan for extra time until the pasta or rice cooks, or that your lasagne will survive an extra 10 minutes in the oven (as long as it's not black on top) while the veg finishes is useful knowledge!!Newlywed at the point I joined the forum... now newly separated0
