    Hi Busby,

I totally agree with the above comments and have this to add. If you give Muck Hall ANYTHING, they will continue to harass and annoy your ex. It doesn't matter if you give them your address, as the debt definitely appears to be statute barred. I'd also be amazed if they can do anything once you send the prove it letter, but as I said, it's totally up to you. My advice is to send the prove it letter and if they can prove you owe the money, then you can send the statute barred letter. THEY DO NOT GIVE UP. Trust me, I've dealt with these pond life and it's easier to use the system with them!
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

    £2 savings jar £300:D
Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!

Send the Statute Barred letter, but do NOT sign the letter, and send it recorded delivery. And remember that it's up to MH to prove it's not Statute Barred - not for you to prove that it is.

Also, do not deal with them via telephone or face-to-face. I assume that the door-to-door guy was from Meritforce, acting on behalf of MH, right?

But if they have a CCJ then they must have been able to show proof of said debt.

Not necessarily - a debtor might not have received a summons, whereupon the creditor would be awarded a default judgement in their favour.

There is no time frame for a CCJ to become 'invalid', however, if it is not enforced within 6 years the creditor will have to go back to Court to get permission to enforce it and explain to the Judge the reasons why it has been enforced within this 6 year time frame.

But if they have a CCJ then they must have been able to show proof of said debt.

He has looked at credit file and hasent mentioned a CCJ.

This is MacKenzie Hall we're talking about here - have they ever been able to prove any debt?
  • I've just received a text message from Mackenzie Hall telling me to phone them urgently, I can safely say, the only place that text is going is in the bin. I may or may not have a debt owing, but I sure as hell am not going out of my way to contact them, on the strength of a text message.

However, thanks to all the messages on here if I do get anything stronger than a text, I won't be acting on that either.

    Thanks for the heads up...

I received a letter from these cowboys yesterday, and studpidly I phoned them.

The woman I spoke to 'Audrey' claimed that she couldnt speak to me unless I confirmed my details. As they were my details, I suggested that maybe she should confirm them to me.

Apparently, they are a third party acting on behalf of Arrow Global - another company I have not heard of.

I quickly informed her that as I declared myself bankrupt and have not had any debt since, that she should close the file.

When i got back to my desk, I thought about how stupid it was to even have spoken to her, so emailed the address on the letter stating that I wanted confirmation that their 'file' closed.

All afternoon I received emails from a woman calling herself Hannah Wynn, stating that I had to provide them with information. When I informed her that I certainly did not, she wasnt happy.

I told her that they should do their checks properly, that I was a bankrupt and that was that. She told me that 'my claims cannot be verified as true' - now the scum are calling me a liar too!

I went bankrupt after being left with a massive debt by a former partner who was up to all sorts and was eventually arrested for fraud. I was deeply depressed for many years and nearly ended up in a wooden box 6ft under - I dont need to be reminded of these times - it isnt something I am proud of and going bankrupt wasnt easy.

Anyway, apparently, the 'database' they use is a 'condensed version' of the Insolvency database. !!!!!! is she talking about?? I informed her that anyone could request the bankruptcy details, and as they are in the business surely they should use the proper channels to do their investigative work?

Apparently, they are now closing the file due to my unwillingness to provide information! Idiots. I informed her that if I ever hear from them or Arrow Global it will be considered as harassment - hopefully I wont hear from them again.

One piece of advice though - obviously my credit file will be in tatters anyway, but can this company register anything against my file? I have been trying to rebuild my rating for 4 and a half years now and dont want these cowboys f*cking it up for me!
