Defaults settled and Credit Checks from LA

Options
I am hoping to move after June when my wee one is born and I am paying off 3 defaults on my credit report this month so they will be marked as "satisfied".
If they are marked a such does it still go against me that they are registered on there?

Someone advised me that if Im credit checked by a letting agency as they are marked as satisfied the Letting Agency wont see them as they have been dealt with, but this doesnt sound right to me
Will the fact that I have defaults even tho they have been paid still go against me?

A default will stay on your file for 6 years and any lender will see them satisfied or not - defaults hurt you credit profile quite a bit but i do know satisfied defaults look more favourably - you won't get any main stream credit with them on there.

I thought a Letting Agent would be able to see them. Here's hoping they take into consideration they are settled
