Tax Question

in Cutting tax
This might be a completely stupid question
I was unemployed for the best part of last year. I started working again in October and I've just realised that I didn't make the minimum threshold for taxing purposes in the 2010/2011 year. I'm on the basic taxic code of 647L.
Does this mean I should get the money I've been taxed back? Or am I way off the mark here?
Any help appreciated

You shouldn't - in that case have paid any tax? Bear in mind if you were on JSA that is added to taxable income. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

You may still be due some back, without the figures no-one can advise. If you give pay and tax figures for the job plus job-seekers amount and any other taxable income if you had any, then will have a better idea of your tax position.0 -

If you went over the allowance ever so slightly then you should get taxed only ever so slightly... It doesn't work that once you hit the allowance you suddenly get taxed on everything you earn.
You should only get taxed on the amount over the allowance... Only if you get paid monthly the allowance is split into 12 chunks to spread it over the year so you get a bit every month, and get around same nt every month, rather then not get taxed at all first 3 months and then taxed on everything after that...0
