Gas or Battery operated hair straighteners - recommendations?

Hi all
I'm going on a cruise and the particular cruise liner forbids electrical items in the cabin (they provide hair dryers;)). I'm having palpitations at the thought of being without my GHD's:eek: Can anyone recommend any gas or battery operated straighteners? I have thick hair which left untamed makes me look like Lenny the Lion and although wearing hats is fine for the day time, would not be a good look at the captain's table:rotfl:
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I've got some Babyliss gas straighteners, they were pretty cheap from Argos.
They don't get as hot as the plug in ones but they work quite well on my hair which is fine and I have an awful lot of it!
I got them to use after I've been swimming in my lunchbreak so that I look at least half decent when I go back to work,
They definitely give a better result if you let them heat up properly and use a styling spray with them.0 -
well I recommend you a better hair straightener that works amazing, it's the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it has tourmaline ceramic plates which cause less damage to the hair and keeps it soft, shiny and very straight. It's totally worth it

What about mobile phone and laptop/netbook/ipad chargers? Sounds madness to me! I'm one of those people who takes a strip extension lead with me, in case there aren't enough plugs!0
