Myself & some work collegues have been laid off without pay. After speaking to ACAS i have wrote to me employer and advised them that i do not accept the terms of no pay. I now have to wait for them to reply to my letter.
My question is how long do i wait for a reply & what do i do if they dont?

are they insolvent?0

This happened to me, they were behind on pay (going insolvent) but I agreed to work to finish a specific job and be paid a month later. I was then laid off immediately when the job was finished, but then I found out other were being paid. I took them to an employment tribunal, and got my pay along with 2months notice as per my contract.
Questions for you. How long have you been there? What does your contract say if any?0 -
They are not going insolvent (yet) but to be honest with you i dont expect them to be around much longer and i am seeking other employment.
My contract states nothing on being laid off and they have never laid people off before - which is why acas say i should be paid. I will have been with the company 2 years on 14th April. To be honest we are pretty sure we are being laid off so that we are forced to seek other employement rather than been given notice and redundancy pay.be who you are and say what you feel.
