Engagement Present any ideas

My son and his girlfriend have just got engaged in Australia and will be coming home for a visit at the end of May. Now in the meantime I will obviously send them a card but would like to get or make them a special present for when they come home, Any Ideas???

    Hi Julie,

As you haven't had any response on Old Style I've moved your thread over to the Special Occasions board to see if you can get some replies.

Perhaps if you give us some idea of what your son and his fiance are like, what they might want/need (eg are they setting up home for the first time?) and an approximate budget, we could come up with some suggestions. Are they going to be returning to Austraila? If so, I imagine size and weight of any gift will be important.

I think in this situation if it was my son and his fiance, I would probably tell them that I wanted to buy them a special gift and ask them if there was anything in particular that they would like and also add something more personal like a photograph album/momento of their trip to the UK.

If you search the Special Occasions board for threads with 'engagement present' in the title there are a number of threads which might give you some inspiration.

    Good luck.

You could always get a really nice photo frame and then ask them if there's anything they'd like. This way the fram is no problem for them to take back to Aus!
