Design - who can i approach? Catalogues etc

Hi guys

I am slowly trying to build up my own graphic design business and ideally i am looking to approach companies that will offer me repeat work (such as catalogues etc).

So far ive thought of estate agents housing brochures and a few other things but many of the companoes I approach dont outsource and have inhouse design teams.

Im running a bit dry of ideas - can anyone think of good types of companies to approach?

Thank you!
I've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.

  • Have you looked at People Per Hour? it's a bit hit and miss (for me mostly miss) and bid work so it's not a dead cert that you'll get a job. Maybe something to look at though.

Do you do the printing process yourself etc?

I have printing company I use who give me good rates because I use the regularly for me normal day job. Have signed up at pph now so thanks for that. Even if I bid low it will help my portfolio. I see they take a cut so will have to look into how much that is

  • Yeah I have bid I would have thought considerably less than most but ALOT of people in the industry believe it is killing the industry.

This also stems from foreigners bidding for work at exceptionally low rates. Can I ask if you have a site set up or anything?
