Online Money Making & Personal Fundraising?

Hi guys im just looking for some information on these 2 subjects. As of today I am out of work so Im looking into any little money making schemes I can find.
One of my friends mentioned online adverts, click and pay things? He said setting up a website that will pay everytime someone clicks on it might work, then word of mouth round friends for help might get a decent income?
Also whats the UK law on personal fundraising? If im 100% clear with where the money is going is it legal and is it taxable if its a gift?
