Second Job as a 40% tax payer

Hi all,

I am very quiet at work at the moment. I am a 40% tax payer but still have a mortgage/ and training debts to pay back.

Looking to earn some extra money.

With my current job I am a 40% tax payer - basic salary plus extra money when I work (the work has gone quiet at the moment but my job is very secure). The extra money is very useful as I'm currently paying out about £2000 - mortgage, small bills and the rest a training loan - leaving me with about £600 to live, food and fuel my car (a 148,000 Mini with no loan).

I am very good with money but wanting a bit extra. Can anyone recommend anything on a very casual basis?

Thanks

If I knew the secret to that I'd be doing it myself. You could do any number of temp/casual jobs in the evenings and on weekends but they would typically pay minimum wages on which you would have travel expenses to pay and have up to 40%-50% deducted at source for tax, ni and student loans making it not worth doing.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
