I am due to go on a 1day work training course, 4 hrs away. My husband wants to come with me. My employer has booked me into a double room at a premier Inn. Can i contact the Premier Inn and add him to the booking and pay all the extras myself, or will my employer have a hissy fit? Thanks!

It's not normally a problem I've even been abroad with my DH it was fabby shopping and sightseeing while he was working!:D
Probably best to check first if you think they may not like it but can't see the objection really. Ask colleages who have been on other trips first if you prefer not to ask the boss.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -
Check with your boss first, the double room might be for them and you:pBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

As long as he goes off and isn't intending to actually attend the course....no reason why they would ever know [unless you charge his dinner to the room]...I've often done this and my employer would never have known [or cared for that matter].If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

while i am sure it is a doddle to get away with this using a don't ask, don't tell policy as suggested, i wonder how this sits with your employers insurance as i believe it extends to overnight stays for work business?Mortgage May 2012 - £129k
January 2015 - Mortgage down to £114k
Target for 2015 to get down to £105k0 -
I'm with the be open and ask suggestion, if they say no its a no but I personally can't see why they would. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

I regularly go with OH on business trips - we tend to try and buid a holiday around them if they're in good places - we obvaiously have to pay the exrta for mo (for breakfast), the room's always the same price, and then we add a few days extra where possible (and obvaiously pay the full price).
Never had a problem, and many people at OH's work do the same.
Have a great time,
