hi i currently hate my job as a qa engineer.
my dilemma is im looking for work but i would do a technicians job as well as a engineers job in quality.
ive seen a job which is basically a technicians job doing lots of inspection and its currently 1.5k under my current wage. its only 6.5 miles away from where i live and my current job is 11.5 miles from my home. do i take the risk and go for it as the plant manager has said that in 6 months time he would want me to do the quality system work instead of bringing a contractor in to do this? which i would like to do for them.
im confused. please help. what would others do???/

can you not ask them to match your current wage? The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

thanks for the reply. I have went ahead and asked the agency to put me forward. I will hopefully get to discuss wages at the interview stage. Im going with my heart on this one.0

Why do you hate your job? Is it your job you hate or your employer? This makes all the difference to what you should be doing.hi i currently hate my job as a qa engineer.

If you hate being a QA engineer, then you should stay where you are while you sort out a path to finding another career. It will be better to finish your career in a particular discipline with a longer spell with your final employer rather than have the period split across 2 employers, because this might be the only relevant information from your earlier career for getting started in a new career.
If you hate your employer, you should try to understand why and be reasonably sure that your move will address those issues.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
