I once read somewhere about firms who specialize in trying to claim back money for u ...if they feel u have been overcharged on mortgage interest
In 1985 I obtained a mortgage with The Portsmouth Building Society ...who very shortly afterwards were taken over by Cheltenham & Gloucester.
C&G did not normally take on COMMERCIAL mortgages ....which mine is ....so they upped the interest rate ...
As I could not get any other lenders to take on my morgage at the time ...I had no option but to stick with them.
After much huffing & puffing ...they did eventually reduce it from about 11% to 9% ...which it has remained at ever since.
There's only a couple of years left now but I read somewhere that some people have managed to reclaim thousands ....and so I wouldn't mind paying someone to fight my corner for me !!

Hi, I think you will find that money that has been refunded has been because of charges added and then interest on those charges. I may be wrong but i'm not aware of any one having money refunded because of high interest rates.0

There is only one company that I know of that audits mortgage and loan accounts and provides a means for redress. PM me and I will give the details of their website.
