I like feeding the birds in our garden by feeding them the stuffed coconut shells but as they are quite expensive I did the following:
Cleaned them out once the birds had eaten everything.
Heated up some lard I never used
Filled shells with seeds and hot lard
Let it all semiset
Topped it all up with some peanut butter
Once cold hung them all up! All it costs was the price of a bag of "own bird" seeds from a pet store - which cost less than 1 coconut shell!
My dogs thought the treat was for them and have been waiting patiently by the tree until I called them in. Doh!
