After submitting about a million application forms, I have finally been shortlisted for a position! :j
I have an interview as a Refuse and Recycling Loader, does anyone currently work in this job role?
Any tips for the interview, etc? What is it like to work as a Loader?
Thanks

I don't but I can imagine working as a binman must be quite good working as a team.0

Depends on where it is. You could be a bin man or you could be working at a recycling center driving a loader (big digger truck) loading the hoppers.0

Hi there,
congratulations at getting an interview!
My DH is a refuse loader, he loves it. Admitedly it is not to everyones taste, but it is a secure job - everyone needs a dustman!;)
He said recycling is different in every area, around here its all put into boxes and the poor guys have to seperate every item into a special compartment on the lorry - can be back breaking work! If its all in wheelie bins then its a doodle.
But if you are going to be a general loader (household waste), then once you get used to the running around, the weather, THE SMELL, your aching bones lol, its a great job!:D DH starts fairly early, but as a loader he usually walks back in through the door at 12 - 1pm, an on fridays he is usually back in as the kids set off for school!
But beware, YOU WILL SMELLHe doesnt smell it, but I do, i moan about him stinking, and he is so used to it he just cant smell it!
And there are times when he just collapses on the sofa and sleeps his life away!
Good luck anyway, its a good job, he has a laugh, and the tips at christmas are a definate bonus!!:THappyEnough;)
