When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :D

Good morning everyone  hope you are all chipper today, :j Wednesday! Its a blinking hampster wheel sometimes!

La E saw your post about the transfer deal & your oh setting up a standing order  girl you are on the home stretch :cool2:

So last night I couldn't sleep and I stumbled on a thread about perfum-parlour - they can no longer call the perfumes what they smell like!!!! I have saved the list of the designer names if you need it. BTW mine arrived yesterday - cinema & flowerbomb are delish, (coco mademoiselle isnt right)

Today:
  • Work really hard & efficiently, I have so much to do!
  • check banking - student money has gone in, mobile bill has gone out
  • fruit & lunch from stores
  • get some soil for seeds/plant seeds later
  • go for a walk at lunchtime
  • surveys now only 85p to go!
  • get something out of the freezer for dinner before I go to work
  • get keys cut - ds lost his
  • call ex-mil tonight - free mins

Stitchy I bought the ingredients to make HM yogurt in the SC - can you explain what I need the muslim for & if I indeed need it? Thanks!

That's it for me, better get my skates on! Have a great day x

  • Morning all and thanks to DNMS for getting us going today. I'm looking forward to my day as I'll be in my own office doing accounts and payroll for the first time in ten days :j (It also means I can stay signed in here and check surveys too ;))

DNMS - sorry I don't use the SC to make yogurt, I just use a wide necked flask (even more MSE!) so I'm not sure what the muslin would be for, unless it's to strain the yogurt?? I do use the SC to make granola though

    My list so far:
    • ran WH on Economy 7
    • quick shower on Economy 7
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    • made lunch to take to work - including HM granola bar :D
    • fed and watered the chickens
    • taken meat out of freezer for dinner
    I will also:
    • do overtime before and after work
    • get a lift to and from work as DH needs the car today
    • visit DGS's mum at lunchtime and get free tea!
    • do a bit on "Hungry Caterpillar" quilt tonight
    • do my own nails - saving £16 at the nail parlour
    • meals from stores
    • have an NSD - 15th this month, target met :T
That's all for today, catch up later

Good morning all - and what a grey day it is!

dnms good for you, having a go at yogurt making! However I dont think they allow you to make yogurt from muslims anymore, political correctness and all that :rotfl:

So work drama unfolded yesterday. Essentially the HR lady told me that they would cut my new salary by about 30%. Now, I'm meant to move in just 3 weeks and this put me in a terrible position and I told her so. I gave her my whole side of the story then she ran it around to the different parts of the building... and boom everyone backed down and I get to keep my already cut salary. Result :T:T Thanks to all of you here for your support through the drama!

    So lots on today:
    • walk to work
    • lunch out with collegue but networking
    • haircut from student in eve - all of it is going to go!
    • dinner from plan and stores
    • fill out R95 tax form
    • book Uganda ticket
    • once I have the ticket, send gym cancellation
    • having OH certify copies of my passport at work
    • free cuppas at work

    Have a good day, all!

heating on low (it's gone quite chilly and OH still got man flu

Then its off to work for me and see whether there's any electric so I can send the wages.....

Morning everyone, hope you're all having good days so far. I'm trying to be more positive at work again today, especially as I heard the other day that there are only 18 working days in April, which means 17 for me as I have the 1st off, yay! Not that I'm lazy or anything, but as some people may be aware I've been getting a bit depressed in the workplace lately. But feeling a bit better today thankfully.

So after that essay (lol), here's what my DFW plans are for today:-

    • [STRIKE]
    • NSD - 6/10 for month, not too bad but will do better next month!
    • [/STRIKE] - Not NSD due to the tiny top up *lol* now an LSD
    • Lunch from home
    • Free tea/water at work
    • Do tiny top up on my phone as I'm skint until tomorrow
    • Lotsof free exercise today - walking, Just Dance on the Wii and step ups!
    • Look for/apply for at least 1 job
    • Return application form for another job
    Happy Moneysaving! xx
    October Grocery Challenge - £67.18/£135
    Save up £500 - £0/£500
    NSDs for October - 0/10
