Why would you stop the direct debit anyway, you still owe the money, and even if they had gone bust the administrators still collect the money owed by everyone.
Ring them up, pay any direct debits you have missed and reinstate the direct debit.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Not only will they take your car off you they will seriously damage your credit file and you will not be able to get another car unless you are prepared to pay serious% apr.
Which is why I assume you went to welcome in the first place?I don't make mistakes! I make prophecies which immediately turn out to be wrong...............0 -

I agree, they are really nice people to those who pay their bills!!!
Point well made.....
Because your paying the a stack of money, why would they not be nice?I don't make mistakes! I make prophecies which immediately turn out to be wrong...............0 -
i was told welcome had gon bust so i stopped my dd but now ive heard they have not gone bust i am worried now they will take my car off me
Who told you they went bust?
Just be on the lookout for any white DAF 45 lorries with orange lights and a hoist on the back you don't recognize:D
Best thing to do is take your car to Tilbury Docks, put it in a container to Nigeria. They will stop looking for the car after 6 years and write off the debt. Hope this helps:p
Sad to say Welcome actually make you feel quite the opposite in the way they treat customers. Welcome Car Finance (now ACF) are more or less the same. Thrashed fleet cars with high mileages, sold to unsuspecting punters with high APR. All the staff are helpful when they smell a sale, after that you're an irritation

My husband went to their local office yesterday and the office was all open but a handwritten notice was on the wall saying the staff were having a day off. He went back today and there was a woman SHREDDING PAPERS and she told him all the staff had been sacked and the company had gone bust. He took a photo of one of the boxes she was shredding as evidence.
I am not sure where this leaves us. We had two payments left on our car which we were actually attempting to pay off yesterday. The woman told him he was welcome to pay cash, yeah right. Theoretically the car still belongs to the finanace company, we are happy to pay off the balance but who do we pay? Can they repossess our car? Will they sell the debt with an even higher interest rate? We got our loan a few years ago before they restructured so although we were paying relatively high interest there were far worse around. I am very worried right now.0 -
you may wish to look at:
http://www.wfs.co.uk/
it mentions the FSCS declaring Welcome Finance in default, and specifically says:
"The agreement with the FSCS does not affect your repayments on any existing loan. You should continue to pay your account in line with your agreement."
check it out..... although the notice is dated 2 Mar 11 so things may have changed since then.
If you're not sure, contact the FSCS
